Jennifer Coolidge's Love Life Is a Total Mystery

Jennifer Coolidge has bent and snapped her way into the hearts of fans, but she is still looking for the "love of her life." Speaking to Page Six in early 2023, the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress said, "I mean, my dating life, I’ve never found anyone quite right for myself. I haven’t found the love of my life.”
The White Lotus star has previously confessed to Variety that her "weakness in life has always been men." She said, "A lot of my life was chasing unattainable men, and it got me nowhere."
One problem Coolidge encounters in the dating world? Guys "can be insecure about my success," she told Vulture. "Their perception of your life is so much bigger and better than what it really is. They somehow project a bunch of shit onto you, that you’re usurping them or you’re doing something to them. You’re some sort of verb."
"I don’t want this to be the end of my life and my romance and all that," the Legally Blonde actress continued. "But I don’t know how people do it anymore. Sometimes I feel like you got this good little thing going once in a while with somebody. You get too much permission to, you know, be you. The thing dissolves pretty quick. There’s so many girls who would be like, Well, f--k them. They can’t handle it. But my feeling is, like, Who wants to be alone, too?”

Coolidge famously played Stifler's mom in American Pie, but she doesn't have any children in real life. While reading "thirst tweets" in a 2020 BuzzFeed video, her famous character's "MILF" nickname came up. Asked if she gets that a lot, Coolidge replied, "Oh yeah, just cause of that movie, not because of real life. I don’t really have any children. I was barren."

Who has Jennifer Coolidge dated?
Coolidge has kept her relationships extremely private, but here's what we can piece together about her romantic past regardless.
Chris Kattan
The Emmy winner has most publicly been linked to actor and comedian Chris Kattan. In his 2019 memoir, Baby, Don't Hurt Me, Kattan described Coolidge as "a tall, messy, sexy, tough, charmingly crass Boston-native bombshell who was considered unattainable by all," admitting, "this didn’t stop me from crushing on her."
Kattan noted that since he and Coolidge "appeared to be physically incompatible" and "she was totally out of my league, nobody could believe it when we actually started dating."
The actor wrote in his memoir that he had been dating Coolidge for a year and a half when they both auditioned for SNL. However, things "started to take a turn the moment" he got on the show.
"She had auditioned and been turned down, creating a delicate situation because it was so difficult for me to share my exciting news without feeling badly about it. She suggested a separation, but I was adamant we could work it out," Kattan recalled. "I didn’t want to lose the connection we had, which never was as much of a romantic relationship as it was a mutual attraction for each other’s comedic gifts. I just didn’t want to lose her."
Kattan revealed that his relationship with Coolidge began to deteriorate in the summer of 1997. After another woman kissed him, he "told Jennifer that I thought it would be a good idea if I took her up on her previous suggestion to separate. I could tell she was surprised, but her feelings hadn’t really changed, and I’d been the one pushing to stay together, so she agreed.
"We’d known each other so long that there was no ill will, but I think there were still some hurt feelings and resentments on both sides," Kattan added.

Unnamed post-American Pie flings
Coolidge got a lot of "sexual action" following her role in American Pie. She revealed to The Guardian in 2013 that she "did date younger men" after playing Stifler's Mom in the movie. “I really dated younger men for the next 10, 15 years," she said.
Years later in 2022, Coolidge spoke about the benefits that came from the film. “I got a lot of play at being a MILF and I got a lot of sexual action from American Pie,” she told Variety. “There were so many benefits to doing that movie. I mean, there would be like 200 people that I would have never have slept with.”
She clarified in a conversation with Ariana Grande for Entertainment Weekly that she had exaggerated the number. "I did say that jokingly [in a previous interview] and, God, you really can't make jokes in our town, because I did make the terrible mistake of saying, 'Thank God for that movie, I got to sleep with 200 men,' or whatever. And look, I would love to say that was true, but I mean, that was sort of an exaggeration."
Banks McClintock
The New York Times referred to Banks McClintock as Coolidge's "live-in boyfriend and writing partner" in a 2004 article. McClintock told the NYT: "One reason I was attracted to her, other than her good looks, was that her comedy was much more like a guy's than a girl's. It doesn't depend on gender. It was very pure."
"You know, there's heartache in comedy, and that's what makes it really good, and I saw that she was doing a lot of that. It wasn't gross," he continued. "Some female comedians go for shock value, because it's so out of character for a woman to go that route, and she was more just snapshots of human nature."
2013 mystery man
During a 2013 interview with The Guardian, Coolidge shared that she had been dating someone for "about a year and a half." Although she didn't reveal who the man was, the TV star said, "He's a very smart, funny guy. And handsome. He's sort of the whole package."
Best friends in Hawaii
Coolidge once dated a pair of friends in Hawaii. During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2021, Coolidge recalled pretending she had a twin sister just so she could go out with two guys who knew each other.
“When you come and you’re on vacation alone, you can kind of like create anything you want," she said. "I ended up like meeting these two guys that were best friends, and I liked them both. And so, I told them that I had an identical twin. I dated both guys...for two weeks.”
Although her relationship status might not be known, one thing is for certain: Coolidge is an icon.
