Jennifer Coolidge gives credit to Ariana Grande for reviving her acting career.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the White Lotus actress recalled the impression that the "positions" singer made of her on the same show in 2018. She shared that she credits Grande's impression as the beginning of "a lot of cool things" for her career.

"You should know that it was sort of the beginning of a lot of cool things that happened for me because — I don’t know — I was going through a dead zone, not much was going on," she told Fallon. "And then Ariana did this imitation on your show, and you encouraged her, and then this ball got rolling."

The Promising Young Woman actor also revealed that she directly reached out to Grande after she saw the impression, which led to her appearance in the singer's "thank u, next" music video. For the video, which paid homage to famous teen films, the pair recreated the "Bend and Snap" scene from Legally Blonde.

"My friend who is like her age, Theresa, she was like, 'You know, you should DM Ariana and just say I thought it was such a good imitation,' and I was like, 'No, she’s got like 260 million followers, those are robots! The robots answer the DMs, and we will never ever get to her,'" she added.

She continued, "I did it anyway, and this response came back, and the next thing you know, I was going to her house, getting fit for a wardrobe fitting for 'Thank U, Next.' That was all because of Jimmy Fallon!"

The actor has since received accolades for her performance in the HBO satire The White Lotus, and there have been several reports that she's set to return for its highly-anticipated second season. She would join a growing cast including Aubrey Plaza and Michael Imperioli for season 2, set at a new branch of the luxury resort.
