Jennifer Aniston has sparked a bit of controversy this Christmas.

The actor became a trending topic on Twitter December 26—and no, it's not because of the upcoming Friends reunion or her adorable puppy, Lord Chesterfield, this time. Instead, Aniston found herself in the middle of a debate over a COVID-themed Christmas ornament.

It all started when the Friends alum posted a photo on her Instagram Story Christmas Day that showed her holding a  wooden decoration with the words “Our first pandemic 2020" engraved on it.

It's unclear if the ornament is hers, but Twitter roasted her for it, regardless, as many weren't happy to see Aniston commemorating what has been such a dark time for many. Some called the ornament's message “insensitive,” “out of touch,” and “tone-deaf” in light of the millions of lives that have been lost to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“Jennifer Aniston is a damn fool for posting that ornament on her story… celebrities are ditzy af,” one person tweeted, adding, “'Cheers to our first pandemic of 2020, where millions of people died! Let’s celebrate that on a Christmas ornament!'”

"All celebrities have done during this pandemic is show how out of touch and just f--ing oblivious they are to anything that doesn't have to do with them. Some people's entire family have died, but at least Aniston is showing how quirky she can be," another follower tweeted.

However, others quickly came to Aniston's defense, saying the ornament was simply a joke.

Some even called out those trying to “cancel” Aniston over the image.

Aniston has previously shared posts about the victims on COVID-19 and consistently urged her followers to wear masks to prevent the spread. “I understand masks are inconvenient and uncomfortable,” she wrote back in July. “But don’t you feel that it’s worse that businesses are shutting down... jobs are being lost... health care workers are hitting absolute exhaustion. And so many lives have been taken by this virus because we aren’t doing enough.”

She continued, “I really do believe in the basic goodness of people so I know we can all do this 🥰 BUT still, there are many people in our country refusing to take the necessary steps to flatten the curve, and keep each other safe. People seem worried about their ‘rights being taken away’ by being asked to wear a mask. This simple and effective recommendation is being politicized at the expense of peoples’ lives. And it really shouldn’t be a debate 🙏🏼 If you care about human life, please... just #wearadamnmask 😷 and encourage those around you to do the same ❤️”
