From mom jeans to tube tops, the ‘90s brought us some of the most iconic moments in fashion. But when it comes to hair, only one style in particular comes to mind: “The Rachel.”

The famous hairstyle—which is a shoulder-length cut with several layers framing the person’s face—was popularized by Jennifer Aniston’s character, Rachel Green, on the beloved sitcom Friends. And no one was as surprised as Friends fans when they saw the 54-year-old actress debut a new modern version of the iconic ‘do at the 2024 Golden Globes.

Last night, The Morning Show star wore a black custom-made gown from Dolce and Gabbana. For her hair, The Morning Show star rocked a sleek, shorter lob (aka a long bob) that framed her face perfectly—just like “The Rachel.”

Aniston first debuted the hairstyle in the season one episode of Friends titled “The One With the Evil Orthodontist,” which aired in 1995. Eventually, the hairdo became the actress’s signature style.

Aniston reviving “The Rachel” hairstyle on the 2024 Golden Globes red carpet feels like a full circle moment. You see, the actress also wore the iconic ‘do to the 53rd Annual Golden Globe Awards. Back then, Aniston showed off her signature style with her Friends cast members—Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox—by her side.

It’s like “The Rachel” never left.
