Jennifer Aniston Has Thoughts About Whether Ross and Rachel Would Still Be Together in 2019

Would they be on a break or....?

When Jennifer Aniston took the role of Rachel Green on Friends back in the ’90s, she probably never would've guessed that she'd be asked about it every time she did an interview in 2019. But such is life for an actor on one of the most popular TV shows of all time.

Luckily, Aniston never seems to mind talking about the show. In a recent sit-down with Natalie Morales on Today—where Aniston was promoting Murder Mystery, her new Netflix movie with Adam Sandler—she revealed what she thinks is going on with Rachel, Ross, and their daughter, Emma. When asked if the couple would still be together, Aniston said, "Yes, absolutely."

"Emma’s grown-up," she continued. "She’s in college? Not yet. High school? Yeah. She’s in high school. Let’s say junior high." Sandler chimed in jokingly, "She's vaping in high school and you're just turning the other way. Way to go." (People notes that Emma was born in season eight, which aired in 2002, making her around 17 years old.)

Perhaps we'll get to watch this play out onscreen sometime soon, as Aniston has also been hinting that a Friends reunion is a possibility. "Listen, I told you this: I would do it. The girls would do it. And the boys would do it, I’m sure," she recently told Ellen DeGeneres. "Anything could happen." Though she has also said there are no immediate plans to reunite Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe at the Central Perk.

We're still holding out hope, of course. I, for one, would love to see how Ross's neuroses would play out as a parent and how Rachel's teen daughter pushes all her buttons. Does Emma hang out with Chandler and Monica's twins? Do she and Aunt Phoebe have wacky adventures in New York City together? There are so many questions to be answered.
