Jennifer Aniston Gives an Honest Update on the 'Friends' Reunion After Second Delay

From ELLE

In March, Jennifer Aniston was supposed to reunite with her Friends co-stars to host a highly-anticipated, unscripted reunion special for HBO Max. Then the coronavirus pandemic pushed it back to May. It still hasn't been shot, and now there's no set date to shoot it—in part because the team plans to shoot the special in front of a live audience, with Aniston and her co-stars Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer all together in person.

Aniston spoke to Deadline about the project being postponed again. And the delays have done nothing to squash the actress behind Rachel Green's excitement about the special.

In fact, the delays may even make the reunion special even better, Aniston said: “It’s going to be super. You know what? This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been. So I choose to see it as the glass is half-full that it got postponed. Look, we’re not going anywhere. You’re never going to get rid of Friends, sorry. You’re suck with us for life guys.”

She added that “unfortunately it’s very sad that we had to move it again." But she is looking forward to filming it when it's safe to do so: "It was, ‘How do we do this with live audiences?’ This is not a safe time. Period. That’s the bottom line. It’s not a safe time to do it.”
