  • Jennifer Aniston is facing backlash after posting a photo of an "Our first pandemic 2020" ornament on Instagram.

  • Jennifer is being accused of making light of COVID-19.

You probably wouldn't think that a Christmas ornament would be the subject of controversy, but then you'd be underestimating the power of the internet. Jennifer Aniston is the latest celeb to get dragged on Twitter after posting a photo to her Instagram Stories. She shared a pic of an ornament that read, "Our first pandemic 2020."

That's not your typical message for an ornament, but is it enough to warrant the internet's wrath? Some are saying yes.

"Just because u like a celebrity, doesn’t mean u should not hold them accountable," one Twitter user wrote. "I’m sorry but that’s so insensitive to put an ornament saying “pandemic 2020”. Innocent lives were lost because of this pandemic."

Another added, "My only problem with Jennifer Aniston's ornament is her calling the pandemic 'our first'. Sis, are you hoping for more?" Which okay, fair.

Despite this semi-ridiculous controversy, it should be noted that Jen has spread information about staying safe during the pandemic and has encouraged her followers to wear masks. It's totally possible that the ornament was just her showing some humor.

"If you’re pressed about Jennifer Aniston’s “1st pandemic” ornament then you sincerely have zero sense of humor," one person tweeted. "Everybody copes differently. Doesn’t mean she doesn’t get the weight of this year. Just means she’s coping with humor. It wasn’t even an offensive saying?"

Another fan even admitted that her mom has the same one: "Just saw that Jennifer Aniston is getting canceled over a “our first pandemic” ornament? My mom’s coworker gave her one for Christmas everyone here needs to calm down lol."

So, maybe Jen's ornament didn't fit some people's sense of humor. But, honestly, there are a lot of problematic celebs (like the ones who blatantly ignore COVID-19 guidelines). Maybe we should just give Jen a pass on this one, yeah?
