Wednesday fans, get excited: Deadline just broke the news that Jenna Ortega is starring in a brand new film with none other than Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye and Barry Keoghan.

With the exception of a small cameo as himself in Uncut Gems, this untitled project will be The Weeknd's feature acting debut. The singer, who is also set to star in Euphoria creator Sam Levinson's new HBO show The Idol, had reportedly been developing this project on his own for several months before bringing on director Trey Edward Shults and Reza Fahim to co-write the script. The Weeknd and Jenna will both be executive producing, along with producers Fahmin, Kevin Turen, and Harrison Kreiss.

This news follows Jenna's recent hosting gig with Aubrey Plaza at the SAG Awards. The two actresses known for their moody (yet iconic) roles stood up at the podium in total silence before Aubrey deadpanned, "I don't know why they paired us up together." "Yeah, I know, we have nothing in common," added Jenna. "We should find the people who did this and curse their families, and watch as misfortune follows their bloodline for the next seven generations," the two actresses quipped together.

While we don't currently have many details about the title, plot, or genre of the film, we're wondering if the music video that the The Weeknd was spotted filming back in February 2023 was actually a portion of this new untitled film. The singer sported a black hoodie and a pair of black sunglasses in the dark while waiting next to a black car under some movie magic rain. Sounds like the perfect vibe for Jenna's dark energy, if you ask us. 👀

Keep checking back for more details — we'll be updating this article with new info as it drops.
