Jenna Ortega's latest hairstyle is basically a movie pitch. We need to see her in an old school 90s-style film, stat. A moderately punky RomCom, a dark teen comedy, and indie cult classic, I can see it all. I'm thinking a 10 Things I Hate About You remake – I'm sorry but we know she could deliver as the savage Cat.
This flicky update to her dark lob (long bob), formerly a shaggy wolf cut, is a genius style for the in-between length, when a short bob starts to grow, and it's far from twee.
Hovering above the shoulders with a buoyant and defined flick, the style is effortlessly cool and we honestly can't tell if it's just done it by itself. Combined with the dark shirt and sunglasses, we're getting road trip, we're getting works in a record store, we're getting impossibly cooler than her small town peers.
Combined with a gentle flush to her cheek and lips, the smudgy brown wing adds to her 'grungy but not trying too hard' look, and her lashes are defined but impossibly long. Tell me this isn't the face of a cult classic heroine?
And it's such a different look from this slinky straight style posted earlier this week, that had fans playfully comparing her to Dora the Explorer.
What can we say? Our girls got range, and so does this haircut. Chalk this up as another win for bob versatility.
