Camila Mendes is Rumored to Star in New Movie, "Alba"

According to multiple reports, Camila Mendes is in talks to star in Alba, a modern adaptation of Federico García Lorca's play, The House of Bernarda Alba.

Per IndieWire, the film is set to be produced by Barbie star Margot Robbie's company, LuckyChap Entertainment, and released by A24, the indie film company behind Lady Bird and Euphoria. Alba is set to be directed by award-winning filmmaker Francisca Alegria.

Top Gun: Maverick star Danny Ramirez are also in talks to join the film, per a report by Remezcla. The movie will also take place in Miami, Florida, as opposed to the play's original setting of Barcelona, Spain. The original story follows a woman named Alba who establishes an eight-year mourning period once her husband dies, which forbids her five daughters to be seen in public or date anyone. The daughters then decide to rebel against the custom as they had a rocky relationship with their late father.

No details have been confirmed just yet, but Camila may likely play one of the daughters in the film, according to Remezcla. We'll keep an eye out for any info about Alba as it comes.
