Jenna Dewan Tatum Had the Best Response to Mommy-Shamers

From Good Housekeeping

Mommy shammers strike again. Jenna Dewan Tatum posted an Instagram two days ago showing her dressed in a lace bodysuit, backside exposed. And some moms aren't happy.

The actress and World of Dance judge captioned the photo, "Cheeky balcony series," and set the photo location as "Tea Time," referencing the white saucer and cup resting on the balcony table (wherever she is, the view looks worthy of some relaxing tea time).

People targeted Dewan Tatum as a mother, saying she should be thinking of her 4-year-old daughter, Everly, before sharing a picture where so much is revealed.

One commented, "Of course she is hot but poor Everly. What signals is she sending to her young daughter? Mummy's bum is all over the net haha. Lead by example."

"Not flattering to you as an intelligent woman," another scolded. "You look great but don't need to model objectifying your body parts on IG - or teach young girls to garner attention by sexual images of themselves."

Others jumped to her defense, like this user who said what many reiterated: "You look amazing. Sometimes it is difficult being a mom and being comfortable in your own skin. I happen to think you look fabulous in this picture. Your confidence exudes through this picture, and I know you will instill that in your daughter. Don't let anyone shame you, or change who you are. I only wish I looked this fabulous!"

The 36-year-old celeb and wife of Channing Tatum responded to those haters just hours later with a post that reads, "You can tell who the strong women are. They are the ones you see building up one another instead of tearing each other down."

"To all the strong women out there. May we be them, may we know them, may we raise them. Rise above judgment and step into love," Dewan Tatum wrote.

She's right. While some people criticized her for being a "bad role model" to her daughter, she's setting a good example here by taking the high road.

In reality, what people choose to do and say and show the world is completely on them. Most importantly, parent-on-parent criticism is not the answer. (And, to be perfectly honest, Jenna looks incredible.)
