Jenna Dewan Tatum is thrilled to be out. It’s a Thursday night in Los Angeles, and Elyse Walker and David Koma are celebrating the designer’s new collection over a private dinner party, all of which is especially glam for the mom of a 2-year-old. “It’s actually true that having a child changes your style,” the actress tells Yahoo Style. “We’re going through a stage right now where getting dressed with Everly takes an entire morning and then I have two seconds to throw something on. I go with something comfortable and casual, but still chic. The glamour comes at night.”

Tonight, it’s thanks to her stylist stylist Brad Goreski, who’s dressed Dewan Tatum in a white David Koma dress in honor of the designer’s arrival in LA from London. “I’m really picky about the styles I like,” Dewan Tatum says. “I know what I love and I know what I like to support and I know what I like to wear—David hits all those things for me.”

Goreski adds, “David offers something that nobody else is doing; he can create a dress that’s identifiable as David Koma. There’s a mixture of sexiness, sweetness and sophistication. There’s this confidence and it works so well for celebrities.”

Koma, who recently showed his Fall/Winter collection for Thierry Mugler at Paris Fashion Week, was thrilled to be in a room full of celebrities. “It felt natural to do this amazing dinner,” he said. “The atmosphere is really positive.”

Positivity’s fueling Gillian Jacobs these days. The actress, who’s currently starring in Community on Yahoo, enjoyed the respite from her promotional duties: “It’s been really, genuinely gratifying to see that people are enjoying the new episodes,” she says. “When you have some cast members leave and you get canceled and bought by another network, sometimes people’s expectations are lowered, but I think this is really good TV we’ve been making. Yahoo’s taken so much pressure off us and allowed us to really enjoy making the show, instead of feeling like we’re on death row all the time.”

Jacobs was introduced to Koma’s pieces by her stylist Caley Rinker, and promptly fell in love. “His dresses are so flattering and feminine,” she says. “I feel like a million bucks wearing this.”

Koma’s fall winter collection, on display at the party, was inspired by the work of artist Barbara Brown. “It’s a very important source of inspiration,” he says of art in general. (He’s especially interested in exploring the light and shadow of Caravaggio in a future collection.) “But it’s not necessary every season. I could also be inspired by vintage shops or people on the street—it could be anything.”

Perhaps he should head to Coachella? The music-turned-fashion festival is on everyone’s mind in LA right now, and Goreski says he’s been inundated with requests for festival looks. “The amount of emails I’m getting to dress my clients for Coachella is basically like asks for the Oscars,” he says. “It’s such a thing. I’ve been to Coachella and I loved it, and I like the idea that there’s another place that’s a fashion stage, but I think I’m going to be taking a break off my Instagram next week. Here’s my question: What exactly is the Coachella look? I think people are going to be wearing Jimmy Choo’s there. It’s getting super high-end.” In that case, may we suggest a David Koma dress?
