Jenna Bush Hager Celebrated Hal’s 1st Birthday With Her Parents, and the Photos Are so Sweet
Jenna Bush Hager’s son, Hal, celebrated his first birthday on August 2.
The Bush-Hager family threw a birthday party for Hal. His grandparents, George W. Bush and Laura Bush, stopped by for cake.
Jenna shared pictures of the celebration to Instagram.
The Bush-Hager family celebrated a huge milestone over the weekend: Henry Harold “Hal” Hager turned one! Baby Hal, who was born on August 2, 2019, looked like he had the best birthday party ever in the photos Jenna Bush Hager shared to Instagram.
To make the day extra special, Hal’s grandparents, former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush, stopped by to celebrate (they have rarely seen Hal this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.)
On Sunday, Jenna shared a series of photos from Hal’s party to Instagram. In the first pic, the entire Bush-Hager clan—including Jenna, Henry Hager, George, Laura, Mila, Poppy, and Hal—gathered around the table. In the following photos, the kids hung out in the pool and enjoyed plenty of sweets. Jenna also shared a video of the group singing “Happy Birthday” to Hal, who looks so excited.
“Happiest Birthday to the baby of our dreams Hal Pal. Life sure is wild and wonderful with you in it. Glad we could celebrate early with the ones who love you most,” the Today with Hoda & Jenna host wrote.

Jenna’s Today co-hosts joined her fans in wishing her son a happy first birthday. “B-day boyyyyyyy,” Hoda Kotb commented. “Love you so HHH 💕👶🏻🍭,” wrote Hal’s godmother Savannah Guthrie.
Jenna also posted a photo of Hal with his dad to her Instagram Story writing “Twins.” But many fans think the one-year-old looks just like his grandpa. “Happy Birthday!!! I think he looks like your Dad!!!😊,” one fan commented on her post, while another person wrote, “Happy 1st Birthday Hal! Also—he looks a lot like your dad.”
It’s clear the Bush-Hager clan is happy to be back together. Jenna recently opened up on Today about reuniting with her parents after eight months. George and Laura left Texas to visit Jenna in New York last week. “It felt so good, I got to have a little bit of time with my family last week,” she told Hoda. “It was great.”
“Mila is now waking up at five in the morning because she was there waking up, running down to be with her Grammy and Jefe,” she said. “And I just think even little moments of being with family [are special].”
