With Ouai recently hitting its one year mark, we had a feeling Jen Atkin had another huge launch in the making. Following her groundbreaking Dry Shampoo Foam, Atkin announced Ouai Hair Supplements will also join the brand's family of haircare products. It's rare to see a haircare brand dive into the world of supplements, which makes this launch very exciting.

But instead of sending a press release to announce the new product, Atkin was a bit more creative. While visiting beauty pal and client Huda Kattan in Dubai, Atkin saw it as as the perfect opportunity to share her latest venture with fans. During an Instagram live session on Kattan's page yesterday, Atkin and Lamees Hamdan an internationally renowned doctor and skin expert, revealed the supplements—a project they've been working on for over three years. As Atkin shared the news, she revealed three boxes of supplements. As a hair pro, Atkin shared that she has always believed in the importance of internal care, which is exactly what sparked the idea for the supplements. "The whole reason I even started a haircare line is because I really strongly believe that you will not see changes in your hair by just doing external remedies. You need to do internal as well. For years I was sending clients to the health food store to get biotin, fish oil pills, and so I called my lovely friend doctor Lamees," she said.

Unlike most hair supplements, which are typically one standard dose for all hair types, Atkin is launching three separate formulas for thin, oily, and dry hair that aim to give you healthier hair in 90 days. The dry hair supplements contain silica which is great for achieving smooth and silky strands, vitamin E, and omega 3's to help build strong strands. The thin hair formula includes ashwagandha extract which Hamdan explained is great at reducing stress levels (a major contributor to hair loss), and niacin to help prevent blockage of cholesterol at the pores. As for the oil formula, green tea serves as a key ingredient that balances oily glands. The supplements are meant to be taken only once a day; however, Atkin explained that you can cocktail the oil and thin hair supplements or the dry and oil supplements to customize it to your specific needs. Each of the supplements come in individual packs, making them easy to carry around when you're on the go.

The Ouai Hair Supplements will be available starting April 7 at theouai.com. Atkin will drop more details on the supplements in the following weeks, but for now you can check out her big reveal in the video here.
