Jehovah's Witnesses to host two three-day events

May 21—FORT WAYNE — The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne will be the site of a three-day motivational program by Jehovah's Witnesses they say is meant "to comfort and encourage the public."

WHAT: "Declare the Good News!" 2024 convention series presented by Jehovah's Witnesses.

WHEN: May 24-26, June 14-16

WHERE: Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave., Fort Wayne

WHO: All in the community are invited to attend.

COST: The event is free to attend.

HOURS: Friday from 9:20 a.m. to 4:55 p.m.; Saturday from 9:20 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Sunday from 9:20 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. Each day has an 80-minute lunch break. Bible based talks, interviews and video presentations will be featured. Topics include: The Good News According to Jesus (video presentation), Use the Good News to Defeat Bad News and Why We Don't Fear Bad News.

The 2024 "Declare the Good News!" convention series will take place May 24-26 and again from June 14-16.

The free event is expected to draw more than 7,000 attendees to Fort Wayne, according to information provided by the organizers.

"We are excited to work with city officials in Fort Wayne to host our conventions for the first time," said Keith Hoffman, local spokesperson for Jehovah's Witnesses. "These conventions are a highlight of the year for thousands of Hoosiers who need to experience some positivity in their lives, and we are happy to enjoy the program in this welcoming and hospitable city."

The "Declare the Good News!" convention will present Bible-based videos, discourses and interviews on topics such as:

—Use the Good News to Defeat Bad News

—Why We Don't Fear Bad News

Saturday spotlights a baptism of candidates from surrounding communities, while a two-part video feature will be presented to the audience on Friday and Saturday mornings. Prior to each convention, local congregations will engage in a campaign to invite community members to this free event.

Last year, nearly 13 million people attended more than 6,000 three-day conventions worldwide.
