Jeffrey Dean Morgan Proudly Reveals He Delivered His Two Children with His Own Two Hands

Too bad Grey’s Anatomy killed off Denny Duquette in season two, because Jeffrey Dean Morgan is definitely intern material.

In a recent interview with Howard Stern, Morgan shared graphic details on the births of his two children, Augustus (8) and George (2 months), and revealed he delivered both kids with his own two hands. He said, “I delivered the children. We went to a hospital to do it in case something were to go awry.” (Cough, Seth Meyers, cough.)

The Walking Dead actor went on to say that it was a game-time decision: “I had no idea. I thought I was just there to lend support, hold a leg, and then we had a midwife and as soon as the baby started crowning, they kind of just pushed me in there.”

Morgan and his wife, Hilarie Burton, welcomed their first child, Augustus, in 2010, and while things didn’t go “awry,” they weren’t perfect. He continued, “The first one, Gus, I kind of waited too long to pull him out and he came out and his head was shaped like a cone. He got stuck in that no man’s land a little bit too long.”

Nevertheless, the proud dad learned from his mistakes and was better prepared when they welcomed a daughter, George, earlier this year. “I was ready and as soon as she crowned, I grabbed her a little by the cheeks and pulled her out. Perfect.”

Practices makes perfect.
