  • Jeffree Star's dog, Diamond, just passed away.

  • The pomeranian was 9 years old, and Jeffree says she dealt with health issues for a long time before her death.

Nothing hurts quite like the loss of a pet, and sadly, Jeffree Star is feeling that today. The beauty guru posted teary series of Instagram Stories yesterday, saying he just lost a family member.

"I have really, really horrible horrible news to share with you guys," he said through tears. "We lost a member of our family this week. I'm so devastated and so heartbroken, and I don't even know what to say or think right now."

Jeffree also admitted that he and his boyfriend, Nathan Schwandt, had been pretending to still be on vacation while they were instead home dealing with the loss. He didn't mention anyone by name, but fans immediately began to worry that one of Jeffree's beloved pups had died.

Today, the beauty guru confirmed that his 9-year-old pomeranian, Diamond, has passed away.

"Words can’t begin to explain the loss and heartache we are feeling right now," he wrote in an Instagram post. "For a third of my life she made me smile every single day. And to wake up this morning and not have her smiling back at me hurts so bad."

He and Nathan also posted a YouTube video to his channel that explained what happened in further detail. Jeffree said Diamond had been having health problems, including alopecia, for the past year and a half. But while he and Nathan were on vacation last week in Turks and Caicos, things took a turn for the worse.

"We got a call that she was doing really bad-like worse than ever," Jeffree said. "We panicked, and we started looking for flights home."

Nathan's best friend, who was watching Diamond, called the couple and told them Diamond had passed away before they could get to the airport.

Jeffree, Nathan, and their five other poms were able to give Diamond a proper goodbye once they got home, but the fam is still feeling the loss. Both Jeffree and Nathan said they would be taking some time off to "celebrate her life."

They included some adorable clips of the pup in the memorial video, which you can peep below. Try not to cry. 😭
