“You know, Monaco… That is my North Star,” the mom of one said. She continued, “And I can definitely tell you that I don’t know if I would handle this the same way without her because today, I’m able to look at her and I can say, ‘What would I advise you if you were in my shoes?’ And it changes everything.” Mai Jenkins emotionally added, “So I’m so thankful to be a mom and I’m thankful to have her.”

Shepherd, who also went through a divorce with the father of her child, told Mai Jenkins, “You go through stuff and it’s just like, you look at your child and you go, ‘Thank you for this gift because I needed this gift right now.'”

Jeezy filed for divorce from the television host in September after nearly three years of marriage. The former couple wed in March 2021, and they welcomed Monaco in January 2022. Shortly after news broke of the rapper’s filing, a source told People, “They’ve had issues for a long time, but things got really hard over the last few months. [Mai Jenkins] obviously knew they had problems, but she wasn’t expecting a divorce.” They added, “Now she’s trying to figure out what her future looks like and where she’ll be living.”

Mai Jenkins took a break from social media in the aftermath of the shocking news, just returning to Instagram yesterday with a photo of a short passage written in a notebook. “Sometimes, you need a break and disconnect, to heal,” it read. We wish her all the best as she enters a new chapter of life with her daughter by her side.
