The only good thing about summer ending is Labor Day and all the great deals you can get on clothes, accessories, home goods and more. In fact, J.Crew’s Labor Day deals are already kicking off.

On J.Crew’s website, you can take 40% off select full-priced items and an additional 60% off clearance items when you use the code SHOPNOW at checkout. The brand has deals on tops, sweaters, jeans, dresses, shoes, accessories and more — for women, men and kids. You can find some great, quality pieces to wear during this end-of-summer period, or start prepping your closet for fall with a new cozy cashmere sweater or a new denim jacket.
However, there are a few conditions when it comes to shopping in the clearance section: For one, there are a few sizes left. You may have to scroll a bit or sort by your usual size to find what you’re looking for. Also, all sale items are marked final, meaning you can’t return or exchange them. Personally, I’m cool with that. When items are marked final sale, I make smarter financial decisions and love the items I purchase even more. I mean, you really have to love something to buy it without the possibility of returning it.

When I saw J.Crew’s Labor Day deal, I immediately purchased this maxi dress. It comes in navy and light khaki, although I got the navy and plan to wear it with heels at night, sneakers during the day and flats whenever I feel like it.
This polo sweater has a relaxed, slightly oversized fit that hits just above the hips. Its lightweight cotton knit fabric is perfect for chilly end-of-summer and early fall days.
Slip dresses aren’t going anywhere this fall. Grab this scoop-neck version in black and white polka dots — or pink, camel, green or black. (FYI, the solid colors are a little cheaper.) The silky, drapey dress looks great wearing on its own, over T-shirts, under leather jackets and more.
Sometimes it’s just chilly enough you that need a jacket but too warm to wear one, you know? Wear this long sweater blazer on days like that. It comes in camel, black and gray if you want a neutral staple to wear all the time, and a bright green for those who like to dress a little more colorfully.
This square-neck, puff-sleeve top comes in a pretty pink floral print that looks great on its own or layered under your favorite brown suede jacket in the fall. One thing to note is that this top runs a little big, so it’s recommended that you size down.
