Jay-Z scored major style points sitting courtside last night.

The Blueprint rapper showed up to watch the L.A. Clippers and L.A. Lakers battle it out in the City of Angels on Wednesday, where his casual styling made a statement. The father of three rocked a solid black sweatshirt and pleated trousers for the occasion. He then amped up the look with bold accessories including a paisley-print scarf, blacked-out sunglasses, and Off-White for Nike Air Jordan 1s. Hov’s luxe timepiece, however, was the best part of the ensemble, balancing out the fit’s high-low vibe.

The 40 mm watch, known as the Tiffany-stamped Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph, is crafted from 18-karat rose gold. An ebony black opaline dial pops against the radiant case with eight baguette diamond hour markers, totaling 0.23 carats. But that’s not nearly enough bling for the 24-time Grammy winning artist. That’s where the gem-set bezel featuring 36 baguette diamonds, or 3.48 carats, comes into play, adorning the red-carpet-ready timepiece.

Reference 5961R has a chronograph function with a 60-minute and 12-hour mono-counter that allows the rapper to measure elapsed time. Its annual calendar—which displays the day, date, and months in apertures—is also visible from the watch face. A day-date window set on the 12 o’ clock hour marker is another standout feature, alongside a day/night indication and the brand’s name displayed at its center.

Jay-Z’s watch also houses a self-winding movement that runs at a frequency of 28,800 vph with a 55-hour max power reserve. He can view the calibre, dubbed CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H, through the openwork caseback where its 21-karat gold central rotor takes the main stage. A hand-stitched, matte-black alligator strap, meanwhile, enhances the watch’s sophisticated appeal. And in a blingy addition, its fold-over clasp is set with 22 baguette diamonds (0.97 carats).

This isn’t the first time Hov donned the rare timepiece, either. Beyoncé’s husband wore ref. 5961R at the 2024 Grammys, where he received the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. He attended the event in custom Givenchy outfit that included a black wool jacket with a satin lapel, matching wool trousers, and a stylish floral brooch. Give Jay-Z’s bonkers Patek collection, it’s no surprise that he’d want to show off his wrist candy more than once.

You can rock the watch, too, since it’s available on Chrono24 for a cool $169,900—or you can snag it from Patek dealers for $161,430.
