Jason Reitman's SNL flick now has some star power, as it was announced that Gabriel LaBelle, Cooper Hoffman and Rachel Sennott will star.

Deadline dropped the exclusive last year that Reitman was set to reunite with Sony Pictures for new film, SNL 1975, on the heels of the success of his Ghostbusters relaunch.

SNL 1975 will follow a troupe of young comedians who changed TV forever on October 11, 1975. The film documents the behind-the-scenes story in the moments leading up to SNL's first broadcast.

Reitman will direct and will co-write with Gil Kenan, who teamed up with Reitman on the script for Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Deadline shared that the screenplay will be based on a series of interviews with all the living cast and crew that Reitman and Kenan conducted.

LaBelle - no stranger to playing living icons after his performance as a young Steven Spielberg in The Fabelmans - will play the legendary Lorne Michaels. Hoffman will take on the role of Dick Ebersol, and Sennott will star as Rosie Shuster.

The film is currently in pre-production, with Erica Mills executive producing and Reitman and Jason Blumenfeld producing.
