Jason Momoa walked the Common Ground red carpet with two special guests who we almost didn’t recognize. Except…how could we not?! The Aquaman star brought his son Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo, 15, and daughter Lola Iolani, 16 — who he shares with ex Lisa Bonet — to the documentary premiere and they look so grown up! They carried themselves with such poise and maturity.

But after you get past the way time flies, it takes just an instant to see that it’s Momoa’s kids. How is it possible that they look even more like him?! They have the same dark curly hair, perfectly arched eyebrows, genuine smiles, and twinkly eyes.

Momoa is featured in Common Ground, a documentary about the need for sustainable and eco-friendly farming. He told People that he tries to teach his kids the importance of living a green lifestyle — to the point where he wonders if he’s “force feeding” it to them.

“We played [Common Ground] at their school, and it was fun to watch all their friends watching it, but I’m like, secretly, I wish they even took it more to the next level,” he said.

“I mean, I want the next generation to take it even more,” he continued. “And they are, some people are, but you just got to deal with what feels good to you and it just fuels me. That’s what I’m fighting for.”

Earlier this week, Bonet filed for divorce, and just one day later, the former couple had reached a custody agreement. Sure, they had been separated for more than three years, but that speedy legal settlement is a pretty clear indication that their co-parenting relationship is rock soid.

Court documents obtained by People state that the two actors have joint legal custody of the teens and will equally share all living expenses and responsibilities concerning the teens’ health, education, and general welfare. The only exception? Travel. If either parent takes a trip with one or both of their kids, they will be responsible for those expenses. Momoa and Bonet opted out of a child support agreement and decided not to pursue spousal support.

In a joint statement from 2022, the co-parents wrote, “We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so we share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage.”

“We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty. The love between us carries on…Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life our children…”

It was a touching message that aligns with a lot of what Momoa has said about fatherhood.

“When I became a father, it changed my life because it really made me learn to take care of myself,” Momoa told The Philippine Star. “Prior to that, I didn’t give too much thought to that. Everything’s to live for after you have babies. I’ve never learned more in my life by having children.”

“I really don’t know what I was doing beforehand,” he continued. “By having children, I felt like my life was then born from that moment on.”
