Jason Momoa rocks a pink velvet tux to the Oscars with Lisa Bonet: 'Finally, times are changing'

Pink was trending on the Oscars red carpet this year, and Jason Momoa certainly got the memo.

The Aquaman star rocked a light-pink velvet tux for Hollywood’s biggest night, color-coordinating with his wife, Lisa Bonet. It was quite the fashion statement for the actor’s first time at the awards show.

Momoa’s look, courtesy of Fendi, was custom-designed for him by the fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld before he died earlier this week, at age 85.

“We have the honor of wearing Karl Lagerfeld, he designed Jason’s tux personally for him and this is from his last couture collection from Fendi,” Bonet said on ABC’s red carpet pre-show.

While the 39-year-old actor’s best accessory was obviously his beautiful wife on his arm, a close second belongs to that pink scrunchie on his right wrist, which completed his look.

The Game of Thrones alum’s fashion-forward ensemble was a hit on social media.

Momoa was at the Oscars to present. Alongside the actress Helen Mirren, also in pink, he told the audience that the matching look was purely accidental. “It just goes to show that these days, a Hawaiian god and a very mature English woman can actually wear the same color. We can both wear pink,” she said. “Finally, times are changing,” Momoa added.
