Just one day after Lisa Bonet filed for divorce from Jason Momoa, the former couple has agreed on a custody arrangement for their two children — and the swift settlement decision is a major indicator of the state of their co-parenting relationship.

Though the two actors announced their separation in January 2022, Bonet’s divorce filing cites October 7, 2020 as their formal date of separation — exactly three years after the date they were married and over a decade after they began dating in 2005.

Their divorce settlement agreement states that Bonet, 56, and Momoa, 44, have joint legal custody of their 16-year-old daughter Lola and 15-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf. Additionally, The Cosby Show alum and Aquaman star will equally share their kids’ living expenses and responsibilities concerning their health, education, and general welfare.

One exception was noted about living expenses specifically regarding travel, per court documents obtained by People. If either Bonet or Momoa takes a trip with one or both teenagers, “that party shall be responsible for the Children’s expenses for such trips.” The former couple opted out of a child support agreement and mutually decided against pursuing spousal support.

In their joint statement shared two years ago, Bonet and Momoa wrote, “We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so we share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage.”

The announcement continued, “We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty. The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become… Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life our children. Teaching our children what’s possible. Living the Prayer. May Love Prevail✨ J & L.”

In addition to Lola and Nakoa-Wolf, Bonet is also mom to Zoë Kravitz, whom she shares with her first husband, Lenny Kravitz. The Game of Thrones alum and The Batman star are well-known for their close dynamic, which has remained strong since Bonet and Momoa ended their romantic relationship. In fact, Momoa walked the red carpet with his kids at The Batman premiere in March 2022 so they could support their big sister.

During a quick chat with Entertainment Tonight, the Dune actor said, “We’re just so proud. Lisa couldn’t be here so we’re representing, me and the babies. We’re very excited to just be here.” Momoa touchingly added, “It’s still family, you know?”

We seriously admire the way the two have “consciously uncoupled” — they seem to have followed the Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin blueprint.
