Jason Momoa, actual Khal Drogo, casually hurled axes onstage while drinking a Guinness

Oscar Wilde may have said that life imitates art far more than art imitates life, but in the case of Jason Momoa, who threw axes with Jimmy Kimmel with an ease that would make both Khal Drogo and Aquaman proud, we feel like it’s art who is doing the imitating, here.

The erstwhile Game of Thrones star and upcoming Justice League-r, who is currently starring as the part-Irish, part-Native American outlaw Declan Harp on the Netflix series Frontier, basically reminded us why so many people are enthralled with his rugged manliness on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday, January 26th, hurling axes at a target in front of a live studio audience.

Sorry, make that “hurling homemade axes at a target in front of a live studio audience.” Because Momoa, in case you didn’t know, makes his own axes at home in his spare time.

And of course, just to drive the whole “Momoa is way, manlier than you or anyone you know will ever be” point home, Momoa casually sipped a Guinness while it all went down.

Of course, the real reason why we all love Momoa (outside of his dreamy hair and peak physical skills, of course) is that he genuinely seems like a very sweet family man who is supportive of his costars (like Emilia Clarke, whom he famously still adores) and just as happy hanging at home with his wife, Lisa Bonet, as he is hurling axes, scaling cliffs, and riding bareback with his army of Dothraki.
