Jason Kelce #62 of the Philadelphia Eagles

Jason Kelce has officially announced his retirement.

While breaking down in tears in what turned out to be an extremely emotional press conference, the former Philadelphia Eagles center addressed swirling banter that he may be hanging up his cleats after he mentioned to his team members in the locker room months ago that he had played his last NFL season game.

The intensity in the room was palpable, as his family—parents Ed and Donna Kelce, brother Travis Kelce, and wife Kylie Kelce—all looked on in support.

"I won't forget falling short to the Chiefs," he admitted at one point, adding that "This is where it's going to go off the rails," referring to he and his brother's face-off during Super Bowl 2023, where the Chiefs came out victorious.

"It was really my brother and I our whole lives. We did almost everything together—competed, fought, laughed, cried, and learned from each other," he said through tears. "There is no chance I'd be here without the bond that Travis and I share."

The 36-year-old was overwhelmed with emotion throughout the duration of the speech deliverance, with fans' reactions immediately pouring in via social media.

"Won’t be the same without him! Phenomenal career!" one applauded, while another dubbed him a "legend from day one."

"Next stop, the Hall of Fame," a third theorized, as a fourth chimed in with, "Damn you @JasonKelce for making me cry while having lunch. I’m not even an Eagles fan. Thank you for making football fun to watch! Best wishes in your retirement."

"Man this Jason Kelce retirement speech almost got me tearing up," another admitted, while someone else added, "Jason Kelce just solidified himself as the most beloved Philadelphia athlete of all time."

"Jason Kelce is a such a gem of a human," yet another wrote.

Job well done, Jason, and we're looking forward to seeing what the pro athlete does next after leaving it all on the field.
