Jason Kelce

Jason Kelce's retirement news is bittersweet, to say the least, but the former Philadelphia Eagles center already seems excited about what's to come and the new goals he's set for himself.

During Wednesday's (March 6) episode of the New Heights podcast–which he co-hosts with his younger brother Travis Kelce–the former NFL star was asked about his retirement plans and he didn't sugarcoat any of his answers.

"I'm looking forward to do something that's not football," Jason joked. "I've been so committed to the sport for so long, it's embarrassing when your wife knows how to do more housework. Her dad is an electrician, she can fish a wire."

The 36-year-old later revealed during the "No Dumb Questions" segment of the podcast, where the Kelce brothers field and answer questions from the public, that he plans to transform his diet, which he's already started.

"When Jason is ready to talk about it, I'm interested if he's going to shed pounds in retirement since he won't have to maintain the caloric intake needed to play OL [offensive line]. I was always blown away by seeing Alan Faneca after playing," one X (formerly Twitter) user wrote alongside a side-by-side photo of Faneca during his time in the NFL juxtaposed to a more recent pic of him post-retirement.

While he said he has no plans to follow Faneca's footsteps and start running marathons, Jason confirmed he has plans to "slim down."

"My goal is 250 [lbs]," he shared. "This last week, I got down to 285 cause I knew I was doing this. And then I had cake for three days in a row."

Jason went on to explain that he plans to lose the weight without "doing extreme diets like going all the way vegan or all the way carnivore or keto."

"My man Joe Thomas lost a bunch of weight [and] he's all keto. And I'm like, 'Dude more power to you,' but f--k no, I'm not doing that. He looks fantastic, but it's not worth, to me, doing that," he said.

Instead, he's going about it simply watching what he eats.

"I downloaded MyFitnessPal and just started tracking calories. I feel like as long as I maintain my protein intake, so I keep my muscle and just kind of limit the calories, you'll start to lose weight, that's the plan," he concluded.
