Jason Derulo Chipped His Teeth Eating Corn Off a Power Drill—And Other Celebs Are Confused

Jason Derulo just proved that dangerous stunt content is no longer reserved for thirsty young YouTubers, TikTok stars, and the guys from Jackass. The singer known for throwing his own name at the beginning of all his catchy songs recently took to TikTok to—checks notes—wait—checks notes again—eat corn on the cob attached to a power drill. Needless to say, it did not end well.

On May 19, Derulo posted a video to his TikTok page with the following PSA: “Don’t try this 😭😭😭.” Counter to his caption, he can be heard in the clip saying, “Hey, have y’all seen this? I’ve always wanted to try it. Life hack,” before starting to go full out on the ear of corn. Suddenly, he can be heard yelping in pain before revealing that he has chopped his two front teeth pretty much in half. Ouch. But also, why?!

Later, Derulo posted a follow-up video to his TikTok asking a woman, "Yo, for real. How much do you think it’s gonna cost to fix?” He then yelled at her to “stop lying” when she tells him it’s fine and says he has to go to the dentist. Finally, he posted a dancing video with his perfect, renewed smile on display with the caption, “😁😁😁.” That’s great, Jason, but can we please have the name of your dentist?!

The original video, which he also posted to Instagram, obviously caused some strong reactions. Chrissy Teigen posted the video to her own feed with the simple caption, “jathon derulo.”

“I feel like I made this exact joke before LOL,” she added in the comments. “I love him so much ever since Lip Sync Battle, he is epic and so talented LOL. Damn, my video of Jason Derulo got more views than my own videos LOL.” In case you were wondering, her post currently has 6.9 million views, while Derulo’s has 2.3 million on Instagram.

Because this was Tiegen’s account, plenty of other celebrities also weighed in with their own jokes and questions.

Jersey Shore’s Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino took the video as an opportunity to reference himself. “Oh damn,” he commented. “We got a Situation.”

Katie Couric, ever the journalist, took the time to question Derulo’s process, writing, “Am I the only one who can’t figure out how he did this? 😳.”

Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson pointed out, “This is upsetting,” while Michelle Pfeiffer simply wrote, “🤣.”

Please, I’m begging you, just don’t do this. Under any circumstance!
