It looks like we’re in for a new Jason Bourne movie. According to the latest Hollywood rumors, Universal is actively developing the sixth mainline film in the Matt Damon action franchise.

According to reports, All Quiet on the Western Front’s director Edward Berger will helm the project. With Netflix’s 2022 WW1 film earning numerous awards, including an Oscar for best international film, Bourne’s future looks to be in safe hands.

But who’ll be in the starring role? Matt Damon hasn’t been confirmed at this stage, given the film currently has no script and no actors attached. However, if Damon does reprise his character as the amnesiac assassin hunted by his former organization, it’ll mark his fifth Bourne outing, and his first since 2016’s Jason Bourne.

Damon first played Bourne in a 2002’s The Bourne Identity, and went on to star in a trilogy of Bourne films that lasted until 2007. Jeremy Renner starred in 2012 spinoff The Bourne Legacy, before Damon reprised the role in 2016.

So the next Bourne film will be directed by the man who brought us one of the great war films, but what about the next great war film? Here's when to watch Napoleon.
