This Japanese Village Is Practically a Scene from ‘Frozen’
While us plebeians suffer through the bomb cyclone, this tiny Japanese village is saying, “Welcome to the club.”
Shirakawa-go is a 170-acre town that experiences an “ocean effect” snow every year. Basically, this means all the precipitation from the Sea of Japan will make its way to Shirakawa-go in the form of snow, resulting in a picturesque scene even Elsa can’t deny.
And don’t worry, the village consists of 114 thatched-roof huts that are specifically designed to hold the weight of a heavy snowfall.
