Let’s be honest — we’re mostly paying attention to the Cannes Film Festival for the red carpet glam. And Jane Fonda certainly didn’t disappoint.
At the Second Act premiere and opening ceremony on May 14, Fonda wore a stunning Elie Saab appliqué and beaded jumpsuit and animal print coat. But our eyes were on her feet — more specifically, her Margaux Mary Jane flats in mirrored silver patent leather.

Mary Janes are a stylish alternative to uncomfortable pumps or more casual ballet flats and instantly dress up different outfits. Even a simple jeans and tee look gets a fresh update when you slip a pair on before leaving the house. Fonda’s not the only celeb to wear them, either — Katie Holmes was recently spotted in New York in a pastel blue pair from ATP Atelier.
Mary Janes come in all colors, of course, but thanks to Fonda, we’re definitely eyeing them in gleaming silver. If you love the ones she wore, but are a bit wary of the $295 price tag, there are tons of brands hopping on this must-be-tried trend, and prices start at just $40.
