How Jamie Lynn Spears's daughter Maddie Aldridge is doing on her 'miracle anniversary'

Maddie Aldridge, the 9-year-old daughter of Jamie Lynn Spears and the niece of Britney Spears, spent the past year playing softball (pretty well!), dancing with her mom, playing with her friends at parties, and just being a kid. But one year ago, it looked like things might be a lot different, after Maddie had a serious accident. While on the family property in Kentwood, La., the little girl drove an ATV into a pond and was submerged in water for several minutes. Maddie was airlifted to the nearby Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, where she spent several days recovering.

At the time, the circumstances were dire. Britney even requested prayers from fans, and, after it was all over, Jamie Lynn invited first responders from the harrowing event to attend her daughter’s 9th birthday party in June.

The former Zoey 101 star noted Monday that it has now been a year since Maddie’s accident. “1 year Miracle Anniversary…. THANK YALL for your prayers during that time, and THANK YOU GOD for my beautiful family,” Jamie Lynn wrote.

There have been many signs throughout the year that Maddie’s doing well. Here are a few of the moments her proud mama has shared of her in between the accident and today’s milestone.

By March, just two months after her accident, Maddie was back on the field playing softball.

She was also back on the red carpet for her first NASCAR race.

In April, she was beaming, as she celebrated the big 0-9, with an Louisiana State University-themed bash. A gaggle of little girls were on hand to swim and eat cake.

Around the same time, she and her famous mama even broke it down.

Maddie looked healthy and happy when she headed back to school in August. “And just like that… 4th grade,” Jamie Lynn shared.

And it was pretty cute when she dressed up for Halloween as — what else? — a zombie softball player.

They’ve got a lot to celebrate.
