Jamie Foxx Gets Emotional Celebrating Daughter Corinne's Engagement

Jamie Foxx is expanding his family: He's getting a son-in-law.
On Sunday, Dec. 17, the Oscar winner's daughter Corinne Foxx announced that she is engaged to boyfriend Joe Hooten. Alongside a photo of herself beaming while wearing her new engagement, the TV producer wrote, "from the first time I saw you, I knew you were my forever 💍❤️."
Of course, many of the 29-year-old's famous friends sent their well wishes, including Kerry Washington, who wrote: "CONGRATULATIONS ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️."
However, it was her dad's tribute to her engagement news that really moved us. Specifically, the Ray star wrote an emotionally-charged message on Instagram: "@corinnefoxx @joe.hooten you are a perfect example of what being in love is…. You care about each others life mental and physical… and you have each other’s back."
As he continued, the 56-year-old actor—who welcomed his daughter with Connie Kline—shed light on how Hooten asked for his blessing. "When you whispered to me a while back that you were gonna ask my baby girl to marry you I had tears of joy in my soul," he added. "And @corinnefoxx you have… and have always had a special place in my heart… you deserve love abundantly… so again congratulations you too… can’t wait to walk you down that isle.. @corinnefoxx you have a great soul in @joe.hooten I LOVE YOU BOTH DEARLY… I have my tissues ready 😭 #tearsofjoy."
His daughter responded to the sweet noted with, "We love you Dad!!!! ❤️❤️❤️."
This is certainly a more positive update for the A-list actor, who faced a major medical episode earlier in 2023. Back in April, Foxx's daughter revealed that the Just Mercy actor "experienced a medical complication."
She continued at the time, "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery."
After his hospitalization, he was back to work and on social media again by May. He later told fans, "I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through and I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you I just didn’t want you to see me like that man."
