Jamie Foxx Bids Loved One 'Goodbye' in Super Emotional Note: 'This One Hurts'

Jamie Foxx is heartbroken after losing a loved one.
The Ray star took to Instagram on Thursday, Oct. 5, to express his immense sadness over the passing of his dear friend, actor Keith Jefferson. He was 53 years old.
Mourning the loss with a duo of social media posts featuring his former costar, he penned heartfelt tributes to the "incredible soul," whom he met "back in college."
In the first image shared, Foxx sat alongside Jefferson and his father, smiling together for the capture from a hospital. "💔💔💔 this one hurts. Keith, you’ve been nothing but absolute grace, your whole life your heart is pure your love is immeasurable you were an amazing soul. We will all miss you dearly. It’s gonna take a long time for this to heal. Goodbye, my friend. I love you," he emotionally wrote in the caption.
Jefferson—who appeared in roles in several films including The Hateful Eight, Day Shift, Django Unchained, and more, according to IMDb—was battling cancer prior to his death.
"Every now and then God will give you a challenge and leave it up to you to fix it. When I was first diagnosed with cancer I had to stop, pause , and didn’t want to share with anyone. Not my family nor extended family. Today I’m finally at a place to share because my faith is getting stronger. I have a loving family and the best friends in the entire world," the late actor shared via social media in August.
In an additional post, Foxx continued to express the grief he currently feels over the unfortunate situation. "Everything hurts right now having a hard time looking through these pictures reliving the memories of us having a great time going to miss you man gonna miss you…every [sic] since we met back in college, you have been in incredible soul God rest, NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE TO SEE THE WORDS ABOUT MY FRIEND RIP @keith.jefferson Keith 💔💔💔💔," he penned.
Between the two uploads, famous friends and fans sent comforting condolences his way during this difficult time, including Nicole Scherzinger, Melanie Fiona, and his daughter, Corinne Foxx.
