It's a time of unrest in America when the epic time-traveling series Outlander returns for its seventh season. The Revolutionary War has begun, and the Fraser clan is being drawn into the conflict.

Today, in honor of “World Outlander Day,” STARZ released the first two clips from the season—one depicting an intimate moment between Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) in their bedroom—and the other a playful moment between Roger (Richard Rankin) and Bree (Sophie Skelton).

In the Jamie/Claire video, Jamie tells Claire that in his dreams he has seen her in her “proper” time in the future. When she questions how he knows it was the future he explains it was because of the light.

“You were sitting at a desk, maybe writing. There was light all around you shining on your face and hair. It wasn’t candlelight or firelight. I thought to myself as I saw you, ‘That must be what electric light is like.’”

“How can you recognize something in a dream that you’ve never seen in real life?” Claire wonders.

“I dream of things I haven’t seen all the time, do you not?” he responds. Then he adds, “I dream of the past, why not the future?”

Then we see Roger and Bree on the beach where the soon-to-be minister teases his wife, revealing he had a bit of a wayward youth, smoking and drinking beer, as the two prepare for his ordination, but also a separation as he goes to tend to the spiritual needs of those gathered.

Season 7 of Outlander opens with Jamie and Young Ian (John Bell) rushing to rescue Claire before she’s tried and wrongfully convicted for the murder of Malva Christie. Without too big of a spoiler, it turns out that it’s not Jamie that manages to set her free, but Tom Christie (Mark Lewis Jones).

Once the couple are reunited, the time has come for them to renounce their allegiance to King George and stand with the patriots as the fight for America’s freedom gets underway.
