James Holzhauer Makes Dig at Upcoming Season of 'Celebrity Jeopardy'

James Holzhauer is giving his brutally honest opinion about the newest season of Celebrity Jeopardy. 

The new lineup of celebrities for the star-studded game show special was recently unveiled—but one major Jeopardy! champ is simply unimpressed.

Following the announcement, Holzhauer took to X (formerly Twitter) to give his two cents, and let's just say he didn't hold back. In response to the preview of the new season, Holzhauer coldly replied, "Cool teaser but where are the celebrities."

Among the list of stars slated to compete on the show are Sherri Shepherd, Law and Order: Organized Crime's Christopher Meloni, Abbott Elementary's Lisa Ann Walter, Chicago Med's Steven Weber, Schitt's Creek's Emily Hampshire, The Morning Show's Mark Duplass, Shining Vale's Mira Sorvino and plenty more.

But apparently, none of these names are really doing it for Holzhauer, who had no problem sharing his honest take.

"A casual afternoon howitzer from Holzhauer," one fan replied to the Jeopardy! champ, who is known for his clever sense of humor and often sarcastic tone.

"James, you never disappoint," another fan quipped.

Some users who seemed to agree with Holzhauer's disappointment also noted that this season's caliber of celebrities might be lacking as a result of the ongoing strikes in Hollywood, making the options much more limited than usual.

Others however, rallied in defense of the new roster of stars, including one person who called Duplass a "national treasure."

"Ummm Mira Sorvino is very well known and an Oscar winner," one fan also commented. "I also know Mark Duplass. Not as good a roster as last season of Celebrity Jeopardy! but consistent with previous years."

For those who are still excited to watch these celebrities take the famous game show stage, the new season of Celebrity Jeopardy begins airing Sept. 27.
