James Charles Cancelled His Nationwide "Sisters Tour"

But he said it's not because of his recent feud with Tati Westbrook.

By now, every social media user under the sun is at least vaguely familiar with the drama between beauty influencers James Charles and Tati Westbrook. If you need a quick recap, Tati recently released a viral video calling out her former friend James over some seriously suspect behavior, and for posting an ad for Sugar Bear Hair, a competitor of her company, Halo Beauty. The ordeal cost James over 3 million YouTube subscribers.

Last week, things became even more confusing when, after a few days of back-and-forth videos, Tati and James each tweeted apologies in hopes of putting their public feud to rest. Even so, James is still facing the consequences of Tati’s call-out video: According to Just Jared, on Friday, May 24, James announced via Instagram Stories that he's canceling his nationwide "Sisters Tour."

James, who turned 20 on Thursday, May 23, began the video compilation by thanking his fans for their birthday wishes. He then went on to explain what went into planning the 24-city tour full of “music and makeup and memories and games” before ultimately breaking the news of its cancellation.

According to James, each stop on the Sisters Tour was almost completely sold out, which made the decision to pull the plug “very, very tough.” But throughout the Stories, he made it clear that there are still some silver linings worth paying attention to: He told viewers that none of the venues or affiliated brands pulled out and that cancelling was a choice he made on his own. He also emphasized that the decision was not a direct result of events involving Tati.

“The Sisters Tour is not being canceled because I was ‘canceled.’ Let’s make that clear,” James said. “I made the decision for a lot of different personal reasons. Right now, I just don’t feel like I can deliver what was promised, and that sucks. It really, really sucks to admit, but I would so much rather tell you guys straight up.”

He then assured followers that everyone who purchased tickets will be automatically refunded, and wrapped up by letting fans know that he still plans to tour in the near future. “I promise you there will be a new Sisters Tour, and it will be even more epic than before,” he said. “When we do relaunch, just know we’ll be able to make it even better.”

We’ll just have to wait and see what James’s next move is.
