James Cameron has taken to Twitter to hit back at the rumours circulating about his involvement in an OceanGate film.

Expressing that he doesn't usually "respond to offensive rumours in the media", he shuts down - not just the current rumours - but all future possibilities of making a film about the Titan Submersible.

A filmmaker and an innovator, Cameron has visited the wreck of the Titanic 33 times and has been credited with the invention of the underwater dolly.

With James Cameron's 1997 film Titanic winning 11 Oscars, it seems people assumed he'd be a likely candidate for any upcoming projects about the tragedy.

According to IMDb, the director is currently attached to direct Avatar 3, 4, 5 and The Informationist, about an information specialist hired by a Texas oil billionaire to find his daughter who vanished in Africa four years ago.
