Was This Jameela Jamil Typo a Mistake or a Really Sick Burn on Her 'Good Place' Character Tahani?

The E! News broadcast of the 2019 Golden Globes Red Carpet just majorly messed up Jameela Jamil's name, identifying her as Kamilah Al-Jamil, which is... definitely not right. But! It might just be a very clever joke.

Here's the deal. Jameela plays Tahani Al-Jamil on The Good Place. In case you don't watch, the show follows four people who were sent to hell after they died, and the show explores what each character's version of hell would be like. Basically, what would be *the absolute worst thing* to happen to each character?

Tahani, Jameela's character, lived in her sister's shadow the entire time she was alive, and could never quite live up. Her version of torture is never being as good as her sister, and always coming in second. That sister's name is Kamilah Al-Jamil. It'd be absolute torture for Tahani if she was identified as her sister on THE GOLDEN GLOBES RED CARPET.

Netflix seems to think this is a joke, as does Vulture, but it could just be a really coincidental and bad mistake??

For what it's worth, E! did just subtly apologize for it during the live show. One of their red carpet reporters looked at footage of Jameela on the carpet and said, "Jameela Jamil! We know your name girl. How could we not? It’s live, it happens!” So... maybe that means they know they messed up?

Someone is either *very* funny or *very* in trouble. TBD!
