Over the weekend, Disney Channel and Jake Paul announced in joint statements that they're going their separate ways. The popular YouTube star has starred as Dirk Mann on Disney Channel's hit show Bizaardvark for the past year and a half, but it appears he'll be leaving the show part way through season two.

"We’ve mutually agreed that Jake Paul will leave his role on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark,” a Disney spokesperson announced in a statement. “On behalf of the production company, the cast, and crew, we thank Jake for his good work on the TV series for the past 18 months and extend our best wishes to him.”

Shortly after Disney Channel released their statement, Jake confirmed the news on Twitter, explaining that although he loved Bizaardvark and his castmates, he wants to focus more on his YouTube channel and more adult roles at this point in his career.

The news shocked some fans, but it wasn't surprising to many of Jake's followers who don't buy for a second that Jake's sudden exit was a "mutual" decision.

Many of Jake's followers believe he was fired because his recent string of controversial behavior that does not align with Disney Channel's kid-friendly image.

Quick refresher: Jake went through a highly publicized (and nasty) breakup with Team 10 member Alissa Violet early this year where he accused her of cheating on him and kicked her out of the house they shared (which was all broadcasted across their social media channels). Then he got into a nasty YouTube rap battle/feud with his brother Logan. According to fans, Disney Channel had had enough of Jake's antics when he was accused of turning his L.A. neighborhood into a circus with his crazy stunts and pranks, and then continued to arrogantly brush off his neighbor's concerns during a news segment. He even jumped onto the back of a KTLA news van when the interview was over.

Despite all this, there are still fans that think the Disney Channel made a mistake.

But other people who have been following Jake's recent antics think the network did the right thing.
