She may be known for storming the runways in the ‘90s, but now fledgling actress (and member of Taylor Swift’s girl squad), Jaime King is quite happy with her front row perch. On Saturday night, she took in the Baja East show for the first time wearing a white silk dress that looked great even if it was two degrees outside. Of course we’d expect nothing less from King, a real fashion connoisseur: “You know, I haven’t modeled in so long! Now, I’m used to coming to fashion week to support my friends and emerging designers like Baja East because they’re really, really important to me,” King told Yahoo Style. “I grew up with McQueen and Lagerfeld, but it’s important that young designers know that they have people— like me— in media, who can raise awareness.”

While guests waited for the runway show — which featured sumptuous knit tops, sweaters, and pants as well as glittering floor-length dresses that were worn with Fila slides — King rattled off a few her latest projects. First and foremost, she is launching a beauty line with ColourPop. “I can’t tell you how excited I am,” she said, “I’ve always wanted to do a collaboration with the right beauty company, and ColourPop is amazing: they’re made in America, vegan, and cruelty free, which is really important to me.” Moreover, King advocates that her beauty products aren’t just for the girls. In a recent interview with InStyle, she said that the products are intended for “the girl next door, for transgender kids, and for the boy born in the wrong body.

King is also planning a “gender fluid” kid’s clothing line. “My project, Jaime King for Gardener and the Gang, is the first totally gender fluid kid’s clothing line,” she says. But what exactly do gender fluid baby clothes look like? “It’s like, every single kid’s line out there is always about ‘blue for boys, pink for girls,’ but we just said 'f— that!’ We want to allow kids to be however they want to be, and promote that feeling.”
