The highly-anticipated Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez on Me opens in theaters today, but Jada Pinkett Smith warns that it got a few details wrong about his life, namely, their friendship. On Friday, the actress took to Twitter to point out inconsistencies about how the film depicted her close relationship with the late rapper.

"Forgive me... my relationship to Pac is too precious to me for the scenes in All Eyez On Me to stand as truth," she began, before pointing out the moments in the film that didn't really happen in real life.

"Pac never read me that poem. I didn't know that poem existed until it was printed in his book."

"Pac never said goodbye to me before leaving for LA. He had to leave abruptly and it wasn't to pursue his career."

"I've never been to any of Pac's shows by his request. We never had an argument backstage."

"The reimagining of my relationship to Pac has been deeply hurtful," she tweeted.

Smith clarified that the actors who play her (Kat Graham) and Shakur (Demetrius Shipp Jr.) in the film were not to blame. In fact, she praised them for bringing her and Tupac's friendship to life. "To @KatGraham and @Dshippjr this is no fault of yours," she said. "Thank you for bringing so much heart and spirit to your roles."

"You both did a beautiful job with what you were given. Thank you both," she added.

Smith ended with a heartfelt birthday message for her old friend, who would have been 46 years today. "Happy birthday Pac, you are cradled in my heart for eternity. I love you," she wrote.

Smith befriended Shakur in the '80s when they were students at the Baltimore School for the Arts. "It was the first day, and he came over to me and introduced himself," she recalled in one interview.

"And we hit it off from that moment on," she later added. "I don’t think either one of us thought we would have made it in the way that we did, but we knew we were gonna do something." When their friendship grew, the rapper ended up becoming one of Smith's best friends. "He was like a brother," she said.
