Jaclyn Hill Is Back, and She Finally Addressed All the Drama Over Her Messy Lipstick Launch

• The heat was so bad that Jaclyn stepped away from social media and disabled all of her accounts, but now she's back to explain exactly what went down.

June was a pretty tough month for Jaclyn Hill. The beauty blogger-turned-cosmetics brand owner was called out by her fans for selling a seemingly new line of nude lipsticks that buyers believed to be expired, and the evidence was prettyyyy incriminating. The lipsticks instantly sold out on the first day, but when shipments started arriving and customers tested the product, they were less than impressed— and that's putting it lightly. Thousands of questioning tweets were directed toward Jaclyn because the products contained cotton fibers, plastic ball-shaped objects, and holes.

Jaclyn first addressed the allegations on her website, eventually deciding to give all of her customers a refund.

She said she was disappointed in herself for the way thing went, but things still got so bad for her that she then deleted her Twitter and Instagram accounts to avoid the heat. Now, Jaclyn is back online and ready to tell her side of what actually happened.

In a new video titled "Where I've Been," Jaclyn addresses the reason for her faulty lipsticks and says that the major faux pas was due to the size of her quality control team. "I did not have a quality control team big enough to handle what I was doing at all and I totally messed up," she said. "I was way too over confident in my launch and I was not enough involved in quality control. I overhyped it for you guys, I trusted the wrong people. I did a lot of things that I should not have done."

Jaclyn also used the video to explain why she deleted her Twitter and Instagram accounts temporarily. Her major reasoning behind it was because she felt humiliated, even after she gave everyone back their money. "I had refunded everybody every single penny they had spent, I was humiliated, I was embarrassed and it was time for me to start picking things up and putting the pieces back together and rebuilding."

"I was obsessing over Twitter, obsessing over Instagram— I was obsessed with all of it. I had gotten to this place where I was so clouded and unable to rebuild my brand, unable to figure out what's going on, and I knew in order to get right, in order to make my brand right I had to get me right," Jaclyn added. "So I was just like, I can't do this, I'm done, I need to deactivate everything, I need to have absolutely zero power to look at anything that's going on because I need to focus."

Despite her first major launch being a failure, Jaclyn is confident that another launch failure isn't in the cards for her. "I am doing every single thing in my power to make sure that things like this NEVER happen again."
