Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Shares Opening Day Terrain Details

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Wyoming, has announced that it will open for skiing and riding on Friday, Nov. 24, with two lifts: Teewinot and Après Vous. These lifts service a range of beginner and intermediate terrain.

JHMR advises attending skiers to watch for hazards and avoid closures as early-season conditions exist.

Like most of its counterparts throughout North America, JHMR is relying on a mix of natural and manmade snow to open this month. The resort reports that it has received 62 inches of snow on the summit and 33 inches at the mid-mountain this season.

Said snowmaking work can't be downplayed. Views of the Teewinot lift from JHMR's base area depict a solid, groomed run surrounded by snowless terrain -- hats off, snowmakers and mountain ops team. What a Herculean effort.

Per a press release issued today, JHMR hopes to open more terrain by the weekend of December 2nd and 3rd.

"We're ready to welcome our guests to our 2023-24 season at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort on Opening Day!" said JHMR President Mary Kate Buckley. "The weather forecast provides for cold temperatures, ideal for continued snowmaking and grooming and improved conditions."

JHMR remains committed to its reservation system for the fourth season in a row. Ikon Pass holders and Mountain Collective pass holders must make reservations. Day tickets are limited and can sell out in advance. Thus, JHMR recommends that skiers and snowboarders plan to attend opening day ahead of time by purchasing tickets and making reservations online.

If you're a JHMR season pass holder, fret not -- the reservation system doesn't apply to you. For further questions about reservations and passes at JHMR, click here.

As for the forecast, no massive storms are lined up ahead of opening day. However, according to NOAA, Thursday could bring up to seven inches of fresh snowfall to JHMR followed by a spate of cold temperatures. Boot top powder turns anyone?
