Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Opens 100% Of Its Lifts

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort reached an exciting milestone today when it opened 100% of its lifts.

Jackson Hole Mountain Operations broke the news on Twitter.

While all the resort's lifts are now open, only about half its runs are available.

Still, the news of its lifts opening 100% is exciting, given North America's 2023-2024 ski season status. As you've probably heard by now, the snow and cold temperatures haven't been evenly distributed.

The Northeast was just struck by a tragic flooding period that set several major resorts back and temporarily closed others. The Pacific Northwest is knee-deep in an extended warm and dry period.

And—not to be a drama queen—the situation is dire in my neck of the woods. My local hill is far from a full-scale opening, and the local forecast only contains a few measly dribbles of snow.

The story's a bit different with Wyoming. After multiple precipitation-heavy blasts—accompanied by cold enough temperatures—have established the state as a ski season frontrunner.

Last week, Grand Targhee Resort, Wyoming, shared that all six of its lifts were open. Now, the resort offers 103 of its 107 runs—a strong showing in an otherwise mixed season.

The momentum could continue in the coming days for Wyoming ski resorts. NOAA calls for additional snowfall at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and the Ghee' through Sunday.
