Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Opens Iconic Aerial Tram For Skiing

This morning, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Wyoming, announced plans to open its iconic Aerial Tram for skiing and riding tomorrow, December 16th.

The Aerial Tram provides access to 4,139 vertical feet of terrain via the Rendezvous Bowl.

Despite the Aerial Tram's reputation as the Corbet's Couloir—one of the gnarliest in-bounds lines in the nation—access point, the lifts terrain network isn't experts-only. Rendezvous Bowl provides both intermediate and expert runs.

And, of course, the Aerial Tram isn't just for skiers—foodies have options, too. Atop the Tram sits the award-winning Corbet's Cabin, famous for its tasty waffles.

With the opening of the Aerial Tram, JHMR now has all of its major lifts open, unlocking a significant portion of its terrain offerings—the Tram was previously open for sightseeing on weekends.

JHMR has received 124 inches of snow this season. Still, the resort cautions prospective skiers, "Early season conditions still exist, and guests are advised to stay out of all closed areas and look for hazards."

Later this winter, the Aerial Tram will play host to the now-famous Kings & Queens of Corbet's competition—a freeride faceoff that sees the world's best snowsports athletes competing for victory on Corbet's Couloir.

JHMR released the roster for this year's Kings & Queens of Corbet's event earlier in the week.
