Jack Black to Star in Upcoming Film Adaptation of 'Minecraft'

Jack Black is set to star in another video-game film. Confirming rumors of joining the upcoming film adaptation of Minecraft, Black is reportedly set to play the role of Steve.

According to Deadline, the film is underway at Warner Bros., Vertigo and Legendary. Black is cast alongside Jason Momoa, who is also slated to lead the film. The picture's plot is currently under wraps but the film also stars Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks and Sebastian Eugene Hansen. The Mojang title is currently the bestselling video game of all time, hitting 300 million copies sold with nearly 140 million monthly active players.

The Minecraft film sees producers like Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Momoa, Torfi Frans Olafsson, Vu Bui and the late Jill Messick and will hail from Vertigo, Legendary, Mojang/Microsoft and Momoa's On the Roam.
