Be still my beating heart! JJ Watt’s [almost] 1-year-old son Koa took to the NFL sidelines this week and he is quite possibly the most precious little nugget we’ve ever seen. The little guy went out with his dad JJ — former defensive end for the Houston Texans — to see uncles T.J. and Derek Watt.

“a little family gathering…” JJ captioned a carousel of photos he shared on Instagram yesterday.

In the first, he holds Koa who is wearing protective headphones and staring out at the crowd. In the next, the father, son, and mom Kealia Ohai Watt all smile at each other. The third photo is a snap of TJ reaching for a smiling Koa as JJ playfully pulls his son away.

A clip of the moment was also captured and OMG we will not get over the cuteness any time soon. Koa can’t stop laughing at his dad and uncle’s shenanigans and we can’t stop smiling at the wholesome interaction. The third Watt brother, Derek was in on it too, and as the official NFL Instagram said in their caption of the video, “The Watt brothers with @jjwatt’s son Koa might be the cutest thing you see all day 🥹.”

Somehow the photos just kept getting sweeter. Little Koa has such a heartwarming smile, and he looked adorable in his Texans jersey (Psst! Uncle TJ’s Pittsburgh Steelers were playing the Texans in Houston that day), headphones, sweatpants, and blue Nike sneakers.

“Is Koa just the happiest baby ever? That smile is the best 😍” one commenter said.

“Thanks for the Koa cuteness overload to start my day!” another wrote.

Kealia shared her own post of similar photos and shared snapshots of JJ when he received the Texan’s Ring of Honor during a special ceremony at the game. He wore a red blazer for the occasion, and we’re so grateful that Kealia included photos of Koa wearing a matching mini one!

“Houston always feels like home❤️Congratulations @jjwatt we are so proud of you,” she captioned her post.

JJ retired last season and shared pictures in Dec. 2022 of his family of three on the Texans field. Little 2-month-old Koa wore red and white pajamas, black and white Nikes, a beige beanie, and headphones over it. “Koa’s first-ever NFL game. My last ever NFL home game. My heart is filled with nothing but love and gratitude. It’s been an honor and a pleasure. 🙏🏼,” he captioned the post.

It must have been that new kind of love that JJ Watt first experienced when Koa was born in Oct. 2022. “Love and happiness have reached heights we never even knew existed,” he said.
