It’s National Root Beer Float Day! Try This Recipe for a Healthier Float

Today (Aug. 6) is National Root Beer Float Day, and here at Yahoo Health we’re all about celebrating food holidays. But instead of root beer, we’re celebrating with a healthier version of this sweet treat — one that’s made with bubbly kombucha and protein-packed Greek yogurt, instead of high-fructose corn syrup-laden root beer and calorific vanilla ice cream.

Don’t get us wrong, this is definitely still a float that belongs in the “dessert” category. But why not health it up a bit with some more natural ingredients? The creaminess and slight-sweetness of Greek yogurt is enough to replicate the familiar taste of an original float, and who needs chocolate sauce when you’ve got creamy hazelnut cacao butter and maple syrup?
