If you told me Issa Rae had sprouted wings and flew down to the 2024 Emmys silver carpet, I’d believe you. The Insecure actor arrived at the event looking like a literal bird of paradise in a feathered and crystal-embellished champagne Pamela Roland gown.

The stunning dress had a loose, robe-like silhouette, the better to show off its embellishments. Crystals adorned the high neckline like a collar, with strands of sparkle continuing throughout the layers of fabric. The feathers, meanwhile, gave the gown its wing-like look—especially when Rae raised her arms to the side. It takes a certain level of personal radiance to make a gown this feathered look queen-like and not Big Bird–adjacent.

Rae didn’t hold back on bling when it came to her accessories, either. The nine-time Emmy nominee styled the gown with a few diamond rings and a pair of diamond drop earrings, and wore her hair slicked back into an elegant chignon, with a few feathers to match those of her dress.

You may not have noticed Rae’s sweetest accessory, however—a friendship bracelet she was gifted by two young fans on the Golden Globes red carpet. Explaining the bracelet to the Associated Press, Issa Rae said, “It says ‘Winners.’ I can’t take this off. I’ve been coordinating with it.” The girls who gave Rae the bracelet had been inspired by her role as president of Barbieland on Barbie.

Rae continued to AP, “It didn’t hit me until afterwards where I was like, ‘Oh, this is amazing.’ Like, they recognize me as this character, they aspire to be that character. And they were just so sweet and excited to meet this version of me. I felt proud and honored.”
